Find My Past – WWII Research Starter Package

Are you a descendant of a World War II veteran and would you like to learn more about his or her service? SNAFU DOCS offers WWII research consultancy where we help you find your veteran’s WWII footsteps.

The starter package includes two 30-minute zoom calls.

• In Zoom Call #1, we will meet and have brief talk about your World War II veteran. We need specific information; such as full name, date of birth, date of death, place and state of birth, military unit and/or branch, photographs of your veteran in uniform, possible names of war buddies, and stories that your veteran used to tell.
• Between Zoom Call #1 and #2 , our team will perform a digital research in all existing databases to learn more about your WWII veteran. We will gather as much evidence as possible based on the information you provide.
  This does NOT include archival material or personnel records of your veteran.
• In Zoom Call #2, we will present our digital research. Our goal is to make you understand how your veteran was part of something bigger than him or herself. In this package, we do NOT get materials from the US National Archives. However, after presenting our research we will direct you how to obtain archive materials. We

• What happens after my purchase? - After your purchase, SNAFU DOCS will contact you within 48 hours to set up the first Zoom Meeting by the e-mail address you provide.
• I don't have Zoom, do you have an alternative? - If a Zoom interview is not possible, we can set up either a phone call or Facebook Messenger video conference.
• Do I need to prepare myself for Zoom Meeting #1? - Yes! We want as much information about your veteran as possible. Example: full name, date of birth, date of death, place and state of birth, military unit and/or branch, photographs of your veteran in uniform, possible names of war buddies, and stories that your veteran used to tell.
• Do you request archive materials? - No! Hiring an independent researcher to get archive material can be very expensive if you don't ask the right questions. We want to prepare you to request the right archive material and save hundreds of extra dollars. Helping you understand what can be found and what can't be found in the archives will help you immensely.
• My veteran's records were burned in the 1973 fire at National Archives. Can you still help me? - Yes! Most people do not have a clue that there are more documents than the service records of your veteran. We have helped tons of people who were told that their veteran's service records were burned. This is why you need to understand what type of records can be found in the archives.
• Who do you recommend as an independent researcher for the National Archives Records Administration (NARA)? - SNAFU DOCS recommends Footsteps Researchers for both the National Archives in College Park, MD and Saint Louis, MO.
